Vespa PX200

The wonders of Ebay...Another Essex Scooter, this time a 'full on Mod Machine' from Chelmsford.

Chrome is the new Spam...

Never owned a Vespa. Never even been on the back of one but now I have a 2003 PX200 complete with go faster Malossi 210 kit. It's a long story, and I blame 'finger trouble' on Ebay, but I bought this and a Lambretta Li150 within 10 minutes of each other on 14 July. Could have slashed my wrists at the time but as it was Bastille day I figured I was for the chop.

Anyway, it's a great scooter and a credit to its former owner, John Hill of sunny downtown Chelsmford, Essex. John, if you ever read this, nice one mate and I hope your Lambretta S2 TV175 restoration goes well.

Here's the Ebay description and original pictures but I'm not saying how much I paid for it suffice to say that we were both happy to do the deal.

Vespa PX 200 Disc 2003

6800 Genuine Miles
Personalised Plate H1 2 MOD (Cost £600 when purchased)
Malossi 210 kit with matched head.

This is the 3rd attempt at listing so I apologise for those bidding and watching but there is an issue with regard to the categories.

When I decided to sell this scooter and began to list the extras and modifications I began to talk myself out of listing it. I read many auctions that state they are selling things due to pressure from a spouse or partner. I am in the doghouse for selling this scooter!!

This is a nippy, smart reliable scooter that I have enjoyed owning, I had the Malossi kit fitted for a bit of extra speed when riding with a pillion and luggage. It has a T5 4th gear and a Hp4 Lightened Flywheel that has been chromed. This means that the Electric start has been disabled but I have the original flywheel if you want to revert this. I added a Readspeed Race Clutch Basket (£150) which is stronger and deeper and has more lubrication circulation.

This adds to the reliability. I was lucky enough to find a Kegra Exhaust that looks and performs superbly. This is as far as I wanted to go with the tuning but if you wanted to go on a stage and have the ports opened up etc this gives you a great starting point.

I will try and list the extras. Here goes.......
CHROME Side Panels, Front Horncast, Front Bumper Bar, Wheels, Front Star Wheel Embellisher, Switch Housings, Front Rack and Crash Bars, Mirrors and Lights.(Two Amber Notek Rare and Original) Headlight Peak, Rear 3 in one Ironing Board Backrest, Side Crash Bars, Rear Light Cage, Number Plate Surround, CB type aerial and 2 smaller aerials. Sundance Footpegs. Aeroplane Embellisher.

Custom Seat with Matching Ironing Board Cover. Spare Wheel Cover Front and Rear Star Mudflaps. Rubber Mat. Flags and a nice Foxtail.

Taxed and MOT'D May 2009 and a bit of Petrol!!

This is a great Scooter. I hope it goes to someone who will get as much fun with it as we have. I will not obviously be giving it away and do not really know what its value is.I will let the market decide. A 2003 PX 200 Low mileage should fetch £1500-1700 in Standard Form.

This is a ridden scooter and has a few marks here and there. The Chrome wheels are showing signs of wear as salt and grime take their toll. In hindsight I would not have chrome wheels again.

Boring bits.... Paypal deposit of £250 at end of auction. The remainder will be paid in cash on collection within 7 days Please email me if your feedback score is low or if you have any questions. Good Luck.
